Electrolysis

Electrolysis is the only medical approved method of Permanent Hair Removal. Initially invented by Dr Charles E. Michel for the removal of an ingrown eyelash for a patient. Further development of the treatment lead to the creation of electrolysis.

A fine probe is used to release an electrical current in the follicle cauterizing the root of the hair. A system called the Blend is applied, which is the use of two different currents at the same time resulting in effective destruction of the lower part of the hair follicle.

For optimal results treatment needs to be applied when the hair first appears through the skin, as this is when the blood supply is nourishing the hair germ cells. By treating the hair at this stage which is called Anagen, destruction to the hair occurs resulting in regrowth to be finer and softer. Several treatments in this stage will result in the hair germ cells unable to produce a hair.  

Electrolysis is effective in treating all types of hair. The treatment is not dependent on the pigment colour of the hair as Laser and IPL are. Therefore finer and grey hair can be treated successfully.
